I think it’s fair to say that I love books. We have a reasonable collection, and if I see a book I like, it’;s rare for me to resist adding it to the collection. I won’t say that we have too many books, but I do have a few that are lined up to be read, some of them I have talked about previously here.
Where do I get books from? Well, the usual sources, online, in major bookshops, but I also get some from charity shops. We have a number of charity shops in town, and I like to have a browse of their book sections.
In most charity shops, I have to be honest and say that their book sections are usually not very big and not very well organised. That kind of implies that they are not very well looked after. I really can’t say that, simply because I don’t know.
There was one particular shop in town that did have a fair-sized book section, which was well organised and was a pleasure to browse. Sadly, it closed down.
It kind of begs the question, OK, well, what would you do about it? There is an answer to that question, but I’m not quite ready yet to express it here. I’ll probably return to this in a couple of months – if not before.
