This morning, I went across to Portsmouth to meet up with some of my amateur radio friends in the Royal Maritime Club, where they do a very acceptable buffet breakfast. As we normally do, afterwards we sat in the rotunda for a bit of a chinwag, and then went our separate ways. We normally do this a couplle or three times a year.
I’m not sure who travels the furthest, but possibly the most awkward is anybody that comes from the Isle Wight, so it was particularly nice to see G8NHG, Roger. What was really unfortunate was that G7EPE Dave couldn’t make it, train problems unfortunately. Like I say, there’s always next time.
Looking into some things I want to do, means just a little bit of effort on my part;
– Learn how to use the free photo editing programme Affinity. I really can’t do this without the support of a good book, I’ve borrowed one from a friend from the camera club, but i am going to have to give it back soon. Do I buy my own copy (£40), or do I get a slightly cheaper one – annd hope that it is somewhere as near as good?
– Continure reading Gerald & Lee Durrell’s The Amateur Naturalist. Now, “I spend a lot of time on the ipad, phone or computer – can I really not spend 10 minutes a day to read a couple of pages? Also, whilst perhaps not an observation every day, try one or two a week. I picked up a couple of acorns today. I’m going to have a closer look at them.
– Really get to grips with my u3a projects, I have two that I want to follow up on; one for history, and one for Exploring Art. The former, I know what I am going to do. The latter I still have to make my mind up, but I have a week or so to decide before actually having to do something.
Actually getting on with it would seem to be the thing to do.
the picture was taken today. It was an E2 bus from Fareham to Gosport, highly decorated as the Halloween bus. The young man in black very good, makiing the kids on boad scream and laugh.
