We had a bit of a change of tyhe programme tonight. The club has been asked by the council if we can help in a project. It appears that the council has a lot of old photographs of Gosport, and somebody, I’m not sure who is leading the project, wants to update them. Sorr, I’m going to have to publish early to stay on the clock.
Well that could be interesting, I have a lot, and I mean a couple of thousand of photos, and I also have series for example the demolition of the bus station, and the construction of the new McDonalds. I guess it all boils down to whether my photos, and lots, as you might guess, of pictures from other club members.
I think there is at least one other person in the club who had a similar idea to myself, take pictures of shope, what the shops and if that particular retail outlet changes then record the change. Now, I recorded the baseline shots for Stokes Road in 2017. I then started to repeat the shots in 2022. Definitely a bigger interval than I intended. Either way, I didn’t finish even the first review.
Seems to be a bit of a thing for me. I can very easily start an idea, but often never finish following it up. Quite characteristic for me. On the other hand, having started the Creative Writing Group (and hopefully, very soon now, another group) I really do have to follow it up! This could get interesting.
