The ship is the Contentin. She’s been a regular visitor for quite a while now. I can’t help wondering when the other ferries will start returning in the mornings. Something to look out for. The new bus stop on the crossways is still covered. It’s not going to come in to service until the newContinue reading “1403 – thinking about the week”

1402 – Frustration
Today was one of those days when I really didn’t feel like do anything, but we did manage to give the house a quick clean to at least remove some of the dust from the previous two weeks. I am thinking that we have another two weeks to go – at least I hope it’sContinue reading “1402 – Frustration”
1401 – Sail Away
I quite like this picture, there’s something almost sad about it. A lone bird sailing away. I think it could be improved though. I’m hoping the next time I go for a walk to have another go and see if I can improve on it.
1400 – Photography
A picture taken at sunset. Really, a grab shot which I didn’t expect, but the piece is mainly about my morning and afternoon walks. This was part of a rather spectacular sunset. The people are included deliberately, adding a sense of scale, and a degree of atmosphere. Talking of atmosphere, that;s what’s my writing lacks,Continue reading “1400 – Photography”
1399 – Morning walk
The crossways all marked up ready to go, but the bus stop is still covered. I don’t think it will be long now, the main bus halt is still being prepared. I reckon the end of the month. Then the demolition of the old bus station will start. In the mean time, there was aContinue reading “1399 – Morning walk”
1398 – Frog or Toad?
Ok, I agree not the best picture, but really surprised to see this on our lawn after I had gone out to shut up the shed tonight. It definitely hopped as it moved, so I think it’s a frog, but wouldn’t swear to it. Really lovely to see it though. It has been raining andContinue reading “1398 – Frog or Toad?”
1397 – Temperature Inversion?
It can’t be just the wind? If it were, wouldn’t the smoke be blown as soon as it left the stack? So yes, I think this picture of one of the Virgin cruise ships at berth in Portsmouth Harbour give a good example of a temperature inversion. The ship was in berth on Sunday. IContinue reading “1397 – Temperature Inversion?”
1396 – Out for a walk
I took this photo today whilst out on a bit of a walk. I think that the hut at the end of a dilapidated pier is full of character, but I’m not satisfied with it, because I would like the background to be out of focus. I may have another go at it, but thisContinue reading “1396 – Out for a walk”
1395 – I went to Southampton
On the bus. I wanted to give my bus pass a run, so I took the X5, which runs from The Hard in Portsmouth, via Fareham and a few other places ending up at Central Station. I wanted to visit a particular shop which is about a mile further on, and was easy to find.Continue reading “1395 – I went to Southampton”
1394 – Not walking
Not a recent picture. I am in conflict with myself as to what to write about. I’ll think of a possible topic, and another part of my brain will say; “You can’t talk about that”. What I can mention is my ridiculous inability to get up on four out the five days of past workingContinue reading “1394 – Not walking”
