They say you should never publish any of your bad work. Is this a bad picture? We have two trees at the bottom of our garden. In the space between them there are a bunch of five or six hover flies that gather. They are quite mesmerising to watch, and I would love to getContinue reading “17/365 Hoverflies”

16/365 – A Light Fitting
OK, admittedly a slightly unusual photograph, but it is one taken today. So I am maintaining the intention of taking a picture everyday. We were having problems with a new light fitting, the bulbs wouldn’t fit. An electrician had tried, we definitely had the correct bulbs (G9), they just would not fit in the holder.Continue reading “16/365 – A Light Fitting”
15/365 I nearly forgot
Not only did i nearly not go for a walk this morning, I almost forgot to do my daily blog. I have every intention of writing something everyday, even if I have nothing to write about. During the week I do my facebook entry, but this is a follow up, which I very much wantContinue reading “15/365 I nearly forgot”
14/365 The Boat
The boat in question is the £5.5m racing yacht. I got to the waterfront, as the project managers, and technical experts were considering the move. I wanted to watch the move, but they were obviously taking their time. As usual, I walked away, only to look back a few minutes later, to see the boatContinue reading “14/365 The Boat”
13/365 A dramatic Sky
Monday I overslept, Tuesday it was rain, this morning even though slightly breezy it was dry and so I was able to get out for a walk. My reward for bothering was a lovely sky over Portsmouth. I love mornings like this. Mind you, I like a clear blue sky as well, but that isContinue reading “13/365 A dramatic Sky”
12/365 The Bird Table Redux
The bird table is at the bottom of the garden, I can’t see it from the office, so I miss out on activity on it. I installed a Neos camera and bought a cheap tablet to watch it. I haven’t quite worked out how to get photo’s from it to my collection – easy withContinue reading “12/365 The Bird Table Redux”
11/365 A meal out
We booked a meal out at a decent steak restaurant. We were celebrating two birthdays and Anniversary which we had saved up over the lockdown. We felt quite safe there. The tables were a good distance apart, and only the one waitress came anywhere near us. No something we will do very often, but itContinue reading “11/365 A meal out”
10/365 The Battle of Fallopia Balschuanica
For today’s tale, it helps if you are familiar with the lexicon of Star Trek, The Next Generation, for today I am relating to you the story of the Battle of Fallopia Balschuanica. Fallopia Balschuanica might sound like the name of a remote stellar system, but in reality it is a garden plant . LikeContinue reading “10/365 The Battle of Fallopia Balschuanica”
9/365 The Pumpkin Fairy
We have a pumpkin growing in the garden. We’ve had some marrows in the past that got to a reasonable size. I wonder how big this will get? It is always interesting to follow the progress of these things. I had to do a little bit of scrabbling around to get a picture. I wentContinue reading “9/365 The Pumpkin Fairy”
8/365 The Morning Ferries
IT looks like they’re going to collide doesn’t it? They aren’t. It’s a very well coordinated dance. The captains of the Gosport Ferries are very skilful. They know exactly where and how to direct their ships. The Harbour Spirit here is just being lined up to continue the crossing as soo as the Mon StContinue reading “8/365 The Morning Ferries”
