I’ll make a couple of not-earth-shattering confessions. The header picture was taken roughly 18 months ago. I tend to not like gardening, in particular anything that involves direct contact with dirt.
I a gardening job does not involve dirt, generally I’m “OK” with it. For example two jobs I did today were cutting the grass and clearing up after Elayne has finished rampaging through the garden, clearing back anything which does not make the garden look good.
We have a palm tree in the garden, which was looking decidedly brown from all of the dead fronds. I got the step ladder, put on a pair of eye protectors, and climbed up into the heart of the tree to pull out those fronds. There was enough to fill our brown bin and a tub.
I actually found the job to be a bit cathartic. One of those jobs that was mostly easy to do (OK, I had to be up almost at the top of the ladder, but I had the tree to hold on to, so I felt quite safe).
I was just throwing the leaves down, so it was a bit of a pain after I had finished taking the leaves out, to clear them up. I then had to pick up individual leaves after I’d cleared the bulk.
Cutting the grass for the first time this year, after it had really started growing after the winter, was an interesting , it yielded a full basket of grass.
We have amassed a fair bit of garden waste, so much so, that I have booked a slot at the recycling centre for Monday.
