1939 – u3a

I think there’s an unusual, slightly 3D effect to this picture of a plastic toy bus that had been abandoned in the Cockle Ponds. I can’t quite make up my mind which I prefer the mono or colour version. What do you think?

Anyway, on to U3A, which apparently we are no longer allowed to call U3A. The University of the Third Age feels that using a capital U might confuse people and make them feel it is a real university, so the new branding is u3a. It’s easier to type, so no problem from me.

I continue to enjoy the groups that I’m a member of. I talked about some of those activities earlier this week ( this is where I’ll drop in an apology for the brevity of last nights post). Yesterday morning I sat on on my first Interest Group Online u3a group – Archeology. One of the ladies did a long presentation on clothing & how it was made Before the Common Era. It was fascinating, but it also got me thinking.

So, I’ve got the first draft of my pilgrimages presentation for next week. I’ll go through it again before Monday. I have the stargazing diary. Daily recording is nearing an end (last day will be the 22nd) after that, I will move to recording specific events.

Back briefly to the archaeology group. I thought I could do an hour presentation on a specific topic? Well, I’ve had an idea and ordered a book to do research – it might take me a year to put together, but there will be plenty of research I can do. More on that as it progresses.

I just want to write, but I prefer to stay away from controversial topics like politics. I am happy to confess that at the moment, I am writing for me. If you enjoy my writings, and I hope you do then that is all the better.
