I thought I had a Facebookpost lined up, but it has not happened. Not quite sure why. I’d lined it up to be about my attempts at street photography using this door as a background. The picture above is not the result I was looking for.
What I wanted was sommebody in a blue coat to walk past the door much as this lady is doing, but I really wanted a person in a blue coat to provide a bit of colour coordination (I’m not very good with colours – do red and blue complement?)
I was stood at the point where this picture was taken, and a couple were approaching. The man was wearing a nice bright blue coat – perfect. As tthey approached, I said to the man, “Excuse me, would you do me a favour”. They both looked at me and said “No, sorry we are in a hurry, we have an appointment” and carried on.
Now, I have either to think that they really did have an appointment, or they thought I was a nutter (carrying what could be a relatively expensive camera – you and I know its not, but chances are they wouldn’t know that) and couldn’t wait to get away from me. Only one question I guess, what did I do wrong in my approach?
Now that did unnerve me slightly, and luckily I did have the excuse that it had started to drizzle, and I didn’t want to get the camera too wet, plus the high street was quiet anyway, so how lonng would I have to wait for a suitable subject? – who knows. I went home.
The facebook post would have been the mechanics of taking the picture, and here, a little bit of this kind of analysis. Not sure if I will get the chance to have another go tomogrrow. We’ll have to see.

I did get a picture of a red coat. This couple popped out in front of me. I wish he’d walked past the door. A oint about the picture; the person in the grey fleece couldn’t be removed by the iphoto cleanup tool, it did really bad things the red coats right arm. Removing the green bin introduces a severe temporal distortion in what’s left of the bench. To be honest, I wasn’t too bothered about them, they are quite colourful anyway. Although, it’s also quite interest in black & white.
I also have to say, this isn’t really street photography at the moment. There no message here. For me, at least.
