1877 – A Trip Out

I had a bit of a trip out today, It started really with breakfast in the local travellodge, which was very nice.

I had arrived at the ferry terminal whilst The Spirit of Gosport was over on the Portsmouth side, so I had a few minutes spare. Now, I don’t normally take pictures of Navy ships, but I noticed that the Prince of Wales (HMS that is) was out in the harbour away from her berth. I thought that I would have a chance of getting a head on picture, but I also noticed that there were half a dozen tugs buzzing around her. I couldn’t help thinking of worker bees buzzing around the queen. Very interesting.

I was heading over to Portsmouth because I found a bookshop on the net. It is on Albert street, which is a couple of miles out from the Hard. Directions said get the No. 2 bus from Stand J and get off at the Albert Street Lights. Of course, I had no idea where these are. Luckily, the buses display the stops and announce the next one, making it very easy.

I found the bookshop, which I have to say was not what I was expecting. If I want any books of Wicca, Druids, Tantric sex, or Alien visitations, I know where to go. I spent an interesting half an hour there and left feeling light-headed and bearing a strong whiff of incense.

I decided that I would give my bus pass a bit of a workout, so after getting the No. 2 back to The Hard I only had 5 minutes to wait for one of the fast buses to Fareham, where I walked straight off one bus on to an E2 to Gosport. I got home about 2PM after a very interesting morning out.

I just want to write, but I prefer to stay away from controversial topics like politics. I am happy to confess that at the moment, I am writing for me. If you enjoy my writings, and I hope you do then that is all the better.
