Tuesday nights is camera club night. Tonight though was a bit special. We had an external judge looking at all of the pictures that have been submitted for inclusion in the camera clubs 2025 summer exhibition.
All through the year I’ve submitted a number of pictures in competitions. At best, judges have held a couple of mine back for a second look, but they never got beyond that. To be honest, I was happy that they had even got that far; being held back. That was good, for me.
What the heck I thought. I’ll put some images in for inclusion in the exhibition. The header picture has a title; “Bottle in a mess” one of those discarded pieces of litter that people seriously annoyingly throw into the cockle ponds was one of those pictures.
We don’t see the judge evaluating these pictures, only the results of her judging. Anyhow, this picture got 2nd place in the open category. To say that I am chuffed is a bit of an understatement. I’m also a bit shocked at the assessment by the judge that it is artistic.
