We went out for a meal today, to The Chairmakers, a pub at Worlds end, Hambledon. They do a Sunday cavery which is delicious, and I am more than happy to recommend it, but this is not what today’s post is about.
The weather is bad, it has been raining for most of the last 24 hours. There are at least two ways of getting to the pub, one the shortest via back roads, the second is longer and involves motorway and dual carriageway, and some smaller roads.
We started out going via the short routes, I knew that we were likely to encounter water. I wasn’t expecting the road to go through a river. We did watch a van go through and it was up to the radiator grill. Given previous experiences with EV’s and water I was not inclined to risk it, so I turned around and went via the longest route.
As it happens, that wasn’t that bad, we were only 10 minutes late. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and it was lovely to see the family.
